The Hermitage possesses a world-famous collection of works by Rembrandt (1606-1669). The paintings by this great Dutch artist include canvases from different periods of his career, while the collection of his prints ranks among the best in the world.

The “Rembrandt in the Hermitage” course will acquaint you with the artist’s biography and the collection of his paintings and prints. You will learn about the history of the collection and the unusual fate of Rembrandt’s world-famous masterpiece, “Danaë”. A significant part of the program deals with rarely exhibited Rembrandt’s prints which are kept in the museum’s reserve.
